Mobile Operator Spusu Launches New SIM Only Plans for UK Customers
The SIM-Only mobile provider spusu, which holds a virtual operator (MVNO) agreement via BTWholesale to harness EE’s national 4G and 5G network, has today announced the launch of several new mobile plans. But unfortunately their “unlimited data” plan seems to have vanished and it’s unclear when it will return.
As usual, all of their mobile plans include unlimited UK calls and texts, 500 minutes to EU numbers from the UK, and 500 roaming minutes and 500 roaming texts for use abroad. Most plans also include between 6GB (GigaBytes) and up to 15GB of EU roaming data for mobile broadband connectivity while travelling.
In terms of the new plans, spusu 10 gives customers 10GB of data for £6.90 per month, while spusu 20 doubles that to 20GB for just £7.90. Both come with 6GB and 8GB of EU roaming data respectively, useful for holidaying or working abroad. After that spusu 30 dishes out 30GB for £9.90, and spusu 80 offers a hefty 80GB for just £12.90, complete with up to 15GB of EU roaming data.

The new plans are intended to complement those that already exist, such as spusu 5GB for just £4.90 and spusu 100GB for £14.90. But the operator also appears to have recently removed their “unlimited data” package from the website at some point around August 2025, and it’s unclear whether or when that may return (we’ve asked).

Fake news – Had my Spusu account for 2 years and never experienced any issues with call SMS or data in many areas of UK and in the EU.
They had no VoLTE support when they started. When VoLTE was added, for a while it only worked with some iPhones and Samsungs. It’s better now, but the list is still small compared other MVNOs.
The issues some experience(d) were caused by this. On EE, you have to drop from 4G/5G to 2G. Not only not all devices do this quickly enough, but EE’s 2G coverage isn’t as good as their 4G (no low band like O2/Vodafone). The result? Missed calls, slow call placement, etc.
So I wouldn’t call it fake news, but it’s not something everyone experienced either. In my case, I ported my parents and had to move one of them right away because they kept missing calls. The other was fine as their Samsung device could use VoLTE.
Sadly it’s not fake news, the calls work fine but they are low quality and take ages to start dialing. The reason is Spusu route them through a completely different country for whatever reason. When they connect there’s not really any issues other than being slightly delayed so it’s likely you haven’t even noticed.
If you use your mobile to make calls this is not the place to be.
I tried 2 cups and a length of string but it had limitations.
Never heard of them, I just went on their site, their cheapest option is 5GB of data, unlimited calls and text for £4.90, also 3GB and 500mins of EU roaming.
So yes, 10p cheaper and a gig more of data than what I am paying with Smarty. But smarty uses the Three network, which is more reliable than EE around here. Not sure how long that will last now that Vodafone have their grubby mits on it.
I will stay with what I have got, it works, and I don’t use the 4GB of data I have now, so would never use 5GB.
My main thing at the moment is trying to find a phone at a decent price that does what I need.
Had Spusu now for a few months to cut costs and honestly not had much of an issue with them, some ppl said about having issues with messages from apps, websites or logins like codes e.t.c. to be honest not had any issues with codes coming thru what so ever.
Signal can be a bit weak but still works despite 1 bar tbh.

Have just switched to Spusu from EE and so far everything has been good cheaper only issue I’ve had is answer phone that takes some understanding!
