Broadband ISP TalkTalk confirms UK customer community forum is gone

A few months have now passed since consumer broadband provider TalkTalk said they were “working on a solution” after their community forum for customers unexpectedly went offline in June 2026. But the once popular feature has not returned and the provider now simply says it’s “no longer available” as a service.

Mobile operator O2 (Virgin Media) has today announced that they’ve switched-on their next-generation 5G Standalone (5G+) mobile broadband network across Newcastle, Tyneside and Sunderland, which is said to reach nearly 1.2 million residents – delivering “faster speeds, better coverage and lower latency at no extra cost.”

Rochdale-based UK ISP Zen Internet, which began selling packages via MS3’s full fibre (FTTP) network in parts of Hull (East Yorkshire) and Lincolnshire in June 2026, has now revealed that they’ve made even faster speeds of 2.5Gbps (2.3Gbps average) available to new residential and business customers covered by the network. Separately, more of Zen’s packages now include Wi-Fi 7 routers as standard.

The European Space Agency (ESA) has chosen satcom specialist neXat to lead a new €1.5m (£1.28m) project that aims to create an automated satellite backup (failover) for when submarine fibre optic networks suffer outages (cable breaks). The new system will be supported by Telesat’s future Lightspeed constellation of ultafast broadband satellites in Low Earth Orbit.

London Internet Exchange Passes 1Tbps of Traffic on LON2 Network

Ofcom secure BT changes to protect vulnerable UK users during digital phone switch

The UK telecoms regulator, Ofcom, has closed a compliance remediation process it had for broadband and phone provider BT, which reflected some weaknesses that the regulator found in the provider’s handling of vulnerable customers during the switch from analogue to digital (IP-based) phone services. Changes have now been made to fix this.

Sky Broadband UK clarifies impact on users as Yahoo cut email storage to 15GB

After over a week of trying to get a clear answer, Sky Broadband has now confirmed to ISPreview that Yahoo Mail’s recent move to introduce new storage limits on their free UK email platform, which slashed the previous limit of 1 TeraByte (1,000GB) to 15 GigaBytes, will NOT apply to their own Yahoo based email platform (Sky Yahoo Mail); despite customers being told otherwise.
