Complete Fibre to Build Full Fibre for Thousands of Raven Housing Homes UPDATE

The Raven Housing Trust, which owns and manages more than 7,000 homes across the South East of England, has agreed a deal that will see Complete Fibre deploy their open access full fibre infrastructure across the company’s estate of rented and shared ownership homes in Surrey and Sussex.

Community ISP B4RN (Broadband for the Rural North), which since 2011 has been working with volunteers to deploy a new 10Gbps full fibre (FTTP) network across rural parts of England, has secured a key grant of £66,000 from the Ray Wind Farm to help their network extend across more of the Barrasford area in Northumberland.

Virgin Media O2 UK to Create 200 New Entry-Level Jobs in 2024

Broadband ISP, TV and mobile provider Virgin Media and O2 (VMO2) have today announced that they intend to create around 200 new graduate, intern and apprenticeship roles across the UK in 2024 (starting salaries go up to £35,000 per year), which is down from the c.350 they pledged to create during 2023.

The latest research from Point Topic has revealed that world fixed broadband lines grew by 1.6% (22.39 million) in Q3 2023 to total 1.42 billion connections, which compares with 1.87% (24.59m) in the same quarter last year. But the subscriber growth rate of “full fibre” (FTTP/B) networks in the UK almost stalled in the latest quarter.
