A new survey conducted by outdoor accommodation site Pitchup.com has reported that just 17% of holiday and campsites listed on its site offer a public wireless internet (wifi) connection and only 8% support free internet access.

The North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire Councils have today signed a new state aid supported £5.7 million contract that will see BT expand the reach of its “high-speed fibre” broadband (FTTC/P) connectivity to cover 89% of local homes and businesses by the end of Spring 2015. BTOpenreach has confirmed to ISPreview.co.uk that the first trial of its new VDSL Vectoring (ITU-T G.993.5) technology in the United Kingdom, which could help ISPs to deliver better FTTC broadband speeds over longer copper lines, is now set to begin at the end of July or early August 2013.
