CityFibre Upgrade UK Network to 10Gbps Full Fibre Broadband UPDATE

Network builder CityFibre has today announced that they will begin upgrading their national UK GPON based full fibre broadband ISP network to harness XGS-PON technology from April 2023, which will enable them to offer symmetrical download and upload speeds of up to 10Gbps – Gigabits per second (9.953Gbps to be exact).

150 Businesses Benefit from New Full Fibre Network in Liverpool

New Record Fibre Optic Speed of 1.02Pbps Hit Over 51.7km

A team of network researchers from the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Japan has done it again after they achieved the “world’s first” successful data transmission of 1.02 Petabits per second (Pbs) in a standard cladding diameter (0.125 mm) multi-core fibre cable over a distance of 51.7km.
