Mobile operator Lebara, which harnesses a mobile virtual network operator (mvno) platform from Vodafone UK, has today rejected the rising culture of mid-contract price hikes among their rivals (e.g. O2, EE, Three UK, Sky Mobile etc.) that they say are “penalising people for staying loyal” and committed to “never raise prices mid-contract“.
Lebara, which typically offers customers a mix of mobile plans on 30 day and 12-month minimum terms, has long made a point of promoting their packages alongside a commitment of “no yearly price increases like the Big Mobile Networks“. But lately we have seen some other mobile and broadband ISPs do U-turns on similar positions, so it’s always welcome when a provider renews such commitments for the New Year.
Mayur Jauhari, Commercial Director at Lebara Mobile UK, told ISPreview: “Sky Mobile joins O2 in increasing prices mid-contract for their millions of existing customers. Price hikes like this have become all too common across major networks, penalising people for staying loyal. At Lebara, we believe in fairness and transparency, which is why we never raise prices mid-contract. The price you agree to is the price you pay – no surprises, no hidden hikes. We remain committed to keeping things simple and affordable for our customers.”

so how can lebara keep prices the same while others have midcontract increases. I’ve been with Lebara for a few years, still paying £4.95 a month, its never increased. perfect for my requirements.
Ditto, I joined about a year ago on a 30 day rolling contract – unlimited texts & calls +5GB data £4.95 a month guaranteed until the end of 2025 but so far no price increase fingers crossed.
They’re less greedy.
Because they’re an MVNO and don’t have a full network to maintain is no doubt a huge factor.
@TMG but the underlying network (Vodafone/3) is maintaining a full network and isn’t giving Lebara access out the goodness of their hearts. Presumably the price Lebara pay to them includes a proportional cost of maintaining the network.
I am using Lebera as second line over 2 years. They never put prices up also they start to use three and Vodafone mast now.
We never had speed or coverage issue. Will recommend Lebera.
From my experience, Lebara 100% throttles speeds but you’re not really going to notice it anyways. Seems to be a cap of around 200mbps on Lebara.
@insertfloppydiskhere, I get faster speeds on Lebara SIM than on a SIM from Vodafone directly. Can you provide evidence Lebara are throttling?
Great mobile company….been with them a few years on 12 month contract.
A breath of fresh air to deal with after escaping from VMO2 price rises!
Great service often have deals through money saving expert. Use on my phone and use it as failover when gigaclear decides it doesn’t want to work. Last one I bought was £2 something for 6 months for 50Gb which will see us through a day of work and TV etc with some to spare. Voda in our area has good reception.
Been with Lebara since 2021 and don’t have a bad word to say about them, I specifically chose them because of their reasonably priced plans and because they have not insisted on putting up prices over the years (aka punishing loyalty) is why I have stayed – and will stay until something changes
5 years of consistent payment and (in return) service, whereas if they did put up prices like the other networks do I would’ve left after the 1st year and been network hopping to find the best deals and likely wouldn’t have been back meaning they wouldn’t have got a penny more money from me
For now (2026), just wait for their Vodafone contract renewal. Funnily Mayur Jauhari mentioned Sky Mobile… not increasing prices for 7 years, while Lebara didn’t for 5 so far. (6 at the end of the next year)
No doubt Masur Jauhari mentioned the Sky price increase, in anticipation, when people realise their prices are going up, they might think of joining Lebara. The question is, how long can they hold their present pricing structure?
I did noticed 1p mobile do throttles speed last xmas was always getting up to 80/20. Then after new year’s is all over. The speed went back to normal 370/95. Cheeky hidden throttles speed by 1p. I bet no ones even noticed it.
I joined Lebara due to no price increase, and while that continues, with Lebara I shall remain!
So Lebara, Lyca, ID Mobile SIM only, Talk Mobile, Spusu, Mozillion, Voxi and Smarty keep prices the same; this just shows the other companies are just milking the customers for profits.
It’s disgusting some broadband providers are going for a £4 monthly price increase. This is pure greed imagine you had 1 million customers times that by £4 each month that some nice cash.
Been with them for years doing the port dance every 7 or 8 months.
Currently pay £1.33 for 35gig of days. Unlimited mins and calls.
Yep, echo the other, Lebara are great, no issues at all, and EU roaming. Better than Vodafone.
Great company no price increases, always informative about next payments and offered , just loaded the new eSIM app ready for use in 2026.
Been with Lebara for 4 years now and still paying what I was at the start,in fact it has gone down £1 with more data, after the 1st 6 months for 1p ..lol
Great service and good prices. I really hope they don’t force me onto their own core and hope they remain with Vodafone3 and don’t jump ship to EE or worse still o2. If they do I may well go to Talk mobile but until that day I stay with Lebara!
I’m hoping personally it doesn’t move to EE but maybe it’ll be fine in everyday use. It would be a bit annoying if it moves to O2 since some areas I’m in aren’t the best on O2.
Chances are I would go to Talkmobile or back to O2 if I’m unhappy. I’m hoping I won’t be forced onto the new core too, although the old one definitely is throttled as it is anyways.
After being with Lebara for over a year as a second line especially for roaming, I have decided to make this as my main line after ditching EE. Great service and roaming, especially in India.
We both moved from using same network for 26years (EE) fed up with annual price increases
Have tried Lebera a couple of times afraid network doesn’t work at our post code despite being assured it would
So have gone to Spusu more data and no extra cost for using abroad and have been able to speak to operators and understand them
Best is it piggybacks of EE
