Broadband ISP Nufibre Launch eSIM Based Unlimited UK Mobile Plan
Internet provider Nufibre has become the latest company to launch an eSIM-only powered virtual mobile operator service with the launch of nuSim, which appears to be based around an unlimited data (mobile broadband), calls and texts plan that cost just £15 per month (including 20GB of roaming data when within the EU).
The underlying network being used for this stems from an agreement with VodafoneThree, which means that their 4G and 5G capable service will automatically connect to the strongest signal from either Vodafone or Three UK, wherever you are.
However, we did have to dig a bit deeper into the bottom of nuSim’s web page to discover that the plan price attracts a 24-month minimum contract, although on checkout you can choose a shorter 12-month or 30-day term at extra cost.

As for the unlimited data claim, the nuSim page states that your “data speed is uncapped” and “in-house tests have shown speeds up to nearly 1Gbps!“. Apparently a “*Fair usage policy applies” (FUP) to their unlimited claim, but at the time of writing we could only find their standard T&C’s and Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP).

This appears to be provided by ShakaTel (or something closely related). After looking through the API code, it seems heavily vibe-coded or at least AI-assisted, so I’d treat it with caution.
Hi Mitch, this service is not provided by Shaka for transparency we work with and backed by Gamma in this regards which i’m happy to share. They don’t have an esim API directly and all our systems are built in house by our dev team.

Understood. Shaka or Gigs are usually the providers people go with.
Since the API looks vibe-coded / AI-assisted, I’d be careful about security implications.
Hi Mitch, thanks for your feedback i will run this by our devs just to make sure. We have used Shaka in the past who also use Gamma and are also familiar with Gigs, but they both provide managed services at higher rates which Gigs in particular excel in, we looked at them a couple of years back, but we manage our own platform and billing for this.

Love the fact that this joker is advertising 5gig on his van and states in his discord that he doesn’t promote anything they can’t supply. One day he will wake up from Dreamland.
Although not esim related and as mentioned on discord we’re taking pre registration for 5Gbps and paperwork is in process awaiting beta testing.
Unlimited Data (watch out for FUP policy!)
Very good point Phil, although our esims are not speed capped the industry does have fair usage policies in most cases and in our case its 750Gb, which for mobile use is more than capable in most circumstances.

Ben, yes sorry 750GB we’re so used to typing speeds rather than data with broadband, the unlimited is used industry wide and fair usage policies will vary, but under most circumstances you wouldn’t use that much data via mobile as this are designed for mobile, not your main home connection where we supply other products for this purpose.

It doesn’t. This isn’t how it’s working at all – some areas have MOCN activated, a lot of areas don’t, and the networks are still separate with different performance and signal. It’s not a fully merged network and won’t be for a while.

Yes you are correct and the merge has degraded the quality of three really bad.
