Rochdale-based ISP Zen Internet has today slashed the installation cost of its up to 76Mbps (Megabits per second) capable Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) based superfast broadband services for the United Kingdom by more than 50%.
As a result new customers will pay £48 inc. VAT to have the service installed by an Openreach engineer (includes the necessary VDSL modem) instead of the usual £110.40. Richard Tang, Zen’s MD, said: “Fibre is only going to grow in scale and importance over the coming years, so to make it even easier for customers to access Zen’s award-winning Fibre Optic Broadband services we are reducing the installation cost to less than half price.”

The move follows earlier news that Zen were planning to launch a new range of “lower priced Fibre Optic Broadband services” and unlimited usage options (here), which has been linked to their huge £3.5 million investment into a new core infrastructure.
