UK ISP Plusnet Slash 12 Month “Fibre Broadband” Prices for July 2017

Thursday, July 6th, 2017 (8:21 am) - Score 1,332

Low cost ISP Plusnet has cut the monthly price of their superfast “fibre broadband” (FTTC) + phone (line rental) packages for new customers and on top of that they’ve also removed the £25 one-off activation fee until the 12th July next week (a 12 month contract term is applicable).

As usual subscribers will receive unlimited usage, an included wireless router, included phone line rental, Parental Controls (network-level filtering) and UK-based customer support. A number of UK calling add-ons are also available (e.g. Anytime calls), albeit at extra cost from +£4 extra per month.

However people living in the most remote rural areas may have to pay a few pounds more per month for their service due to existing outside of the ISP’s “low cost area” (i.e. locations where Openreach is often the only primary broadband supplier).

Unlimited (up to 17Mbps)
Price: £18.99 per month for 12 months (£28.98 thereafter) + £10 £0 one-off activation fee

Unlimited Fibre (up to 38Mbps)
Price: £28.50 £24.99 per month for 12 months (£33.98 thereafter) + £25 £0 one-off activation fee

Unlimited Fibre Extra (up to 76Mbps)
Price: £33.50 £29.99 per month for 12 months (£38.98 thereafter) + £25 £0 one-off activation fee

Low cost Plusnet = lengtheining waiting times for customer support on frequent technical problems. I’ll be moving away.

Even with this Plusnet deal anyone in the non-low cost areas can get a better deal from John Lewis Broadband – they resell Plusnet, but don’t charge extra for rural areas so are significantly cheaper.
