UK ISP Pulse8 Broadband has today announced that, for the second time this year, they’ve been able to drop the monthly prices of their unlimited home “fibre broadband” (FTTC / VDSL2) packages, which applies to both new and existing customers (these also only attach a short 1 month contract term).
The ISP also pledges not to apply any termination charges or minimum call costs (they use per-second billing for calls), although if you need a new line installed from scratch then an additional fee may apply (currently up to £129 one-off) and an upgrade from ADSL to FTTC can cost £49.50.
Sadly Pulse8 do not include a free broadband router but they do provide several paid options for those who don’t have their own and would rather buy direct from the ISP. One other thing to note below is that Pulse8 are promoting their packages alongside the speeds available to the fastest 10% of lines, rather than the ASA’s required “average speeds at peak time” measure.
The New Prices:
38Mbps Home FTTC including line rental = £28.50 inc. VAT (previously £33)
76Mbps Home FTTC including line rental = £36.00 inc. VAT (previously £37.50)
Unfortunately the best they can offer me is £28pm for ADSL, and that doesn’t include line rental!
Try zen fibre every good very good router and wifi
Love Pulse8. Solid connection and great support. And now cheaper!
Puts the big guys to shame.
I’ve switched to Pulse8 just one month ago from Talktalk for FTCC 76/20, mainly because I was tired of big ISPs. So far it is really good. They were extremely fast & technical in terms of customer service.
I have been monitoring the line and the speed is very constant so far with no disconnection.
With no contract, a reduced price of £36/month and the possibility of not getting a “free” routeur that most ISP send whether you want it or not, I think it is a really great choice.
