The CEO of BT’s Consumer divisions (BT, EE and Plusnet), Marc Allera, has posted a limited look at anonymised internet data traffic across EE’s mobile broadband network during Christmas Day and Boxing Day, which mainly focuses upon the key impacts for social media and video streaming usage.
The operator notes a reduction in social use, which combined with an increase in people watching BBC channels on their mobile devices (in dark blue) around 20:30-21:30 on Christmas Day. The BBC claims that Gavin & Stacey was the most watched Christmas Day TV show – 11.6m viewers – but it also seems to have driven some data consumption on EE. Sadly there’s not much more to be gleamed from this otherwise quite limited snapshot.
The report generated on Christmas internet traffic is good. It is showing the data of traffic. Good to see that. Thanks for sharing.
