Full Fibre UK ISP Hyperoptic Introduce Cheaper 24 Month Contracts

City focused broadband ISP Hyperoptic, which is building a new gigabit-capable FTTP/B network across large UK residential buildings, office blocks and some houses, will today introduce a new 24-month contract term option to complement their existing monthly (30 day) and 12-month terms. The advantage is a lower price.

The new 24-month term will be offered as an extra option alongside all of their existing packages, including their cheapest, albeit well-hidden, entry-level 30Mbps plan (follow this link for that because they don’t include it on their main product page).

New customers will thus be able to choose from either a ‘broadband and phone’ bundle or a ‘broadband-only’ (standalone) service on a 12-month or 24-month minimum contract term. You can also get a “no contract” option (broadband-only), but this is the most expensive option. We note that a one-off connection fee of £29 applies to their slower packages, albeit dropping to £9.99 on their 30Mbps option, and it’s free for 500Mbps and 900Mbps.

All packages come with unlimited usage, 24/7 support, a wireless router and a dynamic IP address or £5 extra per month for a Static IP. Adding a phone (voice) service to their packages will also increase the monthly cost by £2. The promotion code for Hyperoptic’s latest offers is listed as HYPERSUMMER, which you should input during the order process.

NOTE: The 150Mbps and faster tiers have symmetric download and upload speeds.

    Do they have Netgem TV?!

“ONE OF THE MOST popular Freeview Play boxes, Netgem TV, has confirmed that it has reached 200 free-to-watch channels with the arrival of a new children’s TV hub feature in collaboration with Channel 5 and Viacom CBS.” (Aug 4, 2021)

Is it really relevant? It’s a very niche product.
