After 21 years, ASK4, which provides gigabit-capable broadband services to students and residents (renters) in multi-tenant buildings across the UK and nine other countries in Europe, is to finally wave farewell to Jonathan Burrows, its original founding CEO, on 1st October 2021 and replace him with Andrew Dutton.
Today, ASK4 is home to 200 staff and has ambitions to expand, although their exact plan remains unclear. At the last update a few years ago, we noted that the provider served around 130,000 connections in the UK (i.e. mostly student accommodation and residential rental properties etc.).
Andrew joins ASK4 from marketing services provider Adare International, where he is said to have taken the business into dozens of new countries and overseen significant growth. Meanwhile, Jonathan Burrows will not be leaving the ISP completely and is set to take up the role of a non-executive member on the Ask4 Group Board, where he will continue to be involved with the group’s future direction.
Jonathan said:
“This is not a decision I have taken lightly, or a process that has been rushed. It has been my singular pleasure to lead ASK4 for the last 21 years. It has been a personal and professional journey and I will certainly miss working with such an exceptional group of people. However, I have reached a point in life where I would like to spend more time with my young family and, in time, pursue other interests.”
Andrew commented:
“ASK4 is a fantastic organisation, and I am delighted to be involved in the next phase of its development. In the last few years, I have been impressed by the Group’s commitment to its clients, the services it delivers, and its ability to expand at the same time as maintaining standards and quality. It is certainly an exciting prospect to be joining an organisation with so many opportunities for growth and development, and I look forward to leading the team as we take the Group to new heights.”
