Full fibre ISP Hyperoptic, which is building a gigabit-capable broadband (FTTP/B) network across parts of 57 UK towns and cities (mostly large residential buildings and office blocks), has announced the appointment of industry vet James Fredrickson to be its new Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs.
James is a familiar name around these parts as he held a similar position at rural fibre ISP Gigaclear and, prior to that, he had also spent 5-years within Vodafone’s regulator division. Suffice to say that an operator of Hyperoptic’s size and ambition needs somebody with that sort of knowledge.
At Hyperoptic, James will lead the policy and regulatory affairs function, and provide strategic council to the executive leadership team on enhancing relations with Ofcom and central government.
Richard Woodward, CFO of Hyperoptic, said:
“As we scale our business, it’s important that we have the right skills and voice to help ensure that the conditions remain favourable for us to continue our significant investment in the future of the UK’s digital infrastructure and deliver much needed full fibre connectivity to customers across the UK. I am delighted to have James on board and his skills and relationships will prove instrumental as we expand our network footprint across the UK.”
End.
