Leicester-based UK broadband provider Gigabit Networks, which primarily seems to focus on connecting premises across the Midlands of England via CityFibre’s full fibre (FTTP) network, has today partnered with commercial energy supplier Utility Trade Group to offer ultrafast connectivity to local businesses in the region.
The Utility Trade Group, which is based in the Midlands, normally offers various energy efficient solutions to help businesses improve their operational performance. The goal of today’s agreement seems to be to complement that by also offering “more cost-effective, future-proofed connectivity solutions” to their customers.
The initial focus for this partnership will be on the Midlands, but they also “see the opportunities in similar partnerships nationwide“.

Georgie Gardiner, Sales & Marketing Director at Utility Trade, said:
“For the last decade, we have been helping businesses in the Midlands and across the UK take control of their energy supplies with intelligent energy. This year, with the help of Gigabit Networks, our goal is to continue to promote sustainability but also to introduce more cost-effective, future-proofed connectivity solutions to our customers.”
David Yates, CEO at Gigabit Networks, said:
“Pure fibre is the ultimate solution for the internet revolution in our country, being not only more cost-effective and less space consuming, but much faster, more reliable, and less affected by the environment. Faster broadband means less travel, less pollution and less carbon emissions – making pure fibre key to business sustainability. It is a future proof-technology which is here to stay.”
End.
They need to concentrate on areas they have neglected Such as Oadby and Wigston
Market Harborough would be another area as very little FTTP available to businesses here who do not want to have leased lines and the long lead times
