Several of our readers have spotted that mobile operator 1p Mobile are stealthily offering a 500GB data (4G / 5G mobile broadband) SIM with unlimited UK calls and texts, which doesn’t appear alongside their main plans but costs just £25 per month on a regular rolling monthly term.
The special 500GB plan appears to be hidden away on 1p’s website, although much like their regular plans it includes the usual commitments to “no annual price rises“, support for Wi-Fi & VoLTE calling, support for tethering (i.e. for use in tablets/MiFi devices, as well as Smartphones) and EU roaming (fair usage cap of 14GB applies) etc.
Admittedly, it is possible to get “unlimited data” plans that are cheaper on Three UK’s network (e.g. iD Mobile and Smarty), but that’s much harder to do if you prefer the coverage or experience of EE’s network.

It appears they are overcharging by £24.99 and haven’t noticed
How embarrassing
Nice haha!
Now if they did a unlimited option for that price…I would be interested
Mmm… They’d be a real contender if they’d allow more than 14gigs for roaming…
As far as I can tell (as an existing 1pMobile customer) it isn’t possible to order this plan/boost even if you use the page where it is displayed. If you click “Order 500 GB Bundle” it takes you to a list of bundles/boosts available and the 500 GB one isn’t listed.
Some feedback from 1p’s support team suggests it may officially launch later this week. Any orders placed now may thus not be activated until later in the week. But I’ve not yet got this officially confirmed.
Utility Warehouse is £23 p.m (30 day rolling), with a 500gb FUP
Smarty are offering Unlimited for £16/month.
If 1p offered unlimited for £20 or less, I would jump ship just to get the extra Band 3 at my locality.
Why is everyone so fascinated with it saying ‘unlimited’ as realistically you’re never going to use that 500Gb data unless you put the sim in a router with multiple devices. I consider myself a heavy mobile data user and I use about 30GB a month
In this case the 1p Mobile data SIMs are also being targetted at laptops, tablets etc., which is a userbase that will often use hundreds of GigaBytes in a month. 30GB is high for a Smartphone user who spends half their time at home and on WiFi, but for proper daily mobile broadband it’s fairly low.
I’m a very data user only my iPhone 15, I’ve used over 146 GB so far from my billing date is 27th of every Month. It’s only the 14th of May 2024.
Joined 1pmobile recently and its been brilliant, until the last 48 hours.
No phone, no mobile internet and down detector says the same for many other people. What is annoying is no status page or X updates from them!
1pMobile is ran by the same company as Utility Warehouse. Aside from the website control panel, both 1P and UW services are identical. You get the same BT Wholesale Mobile (EE) service with the same speeds and connectivity.
At 500GB, UW is £2 cheaper, and if you bundle in extra SIMs or other UW services, you get further discounts.
Doesn’t seem to have launched yet will definitely be watching out. Good to know about UW
