Budget ISP Plusnet has today slashed the prices of their unlimited ‘up to’ 38Mbps and 76Mbps “Fibre” (FTTC) based superfast broadband packages for the first 18 months of service, which reduces the monthly pricing (inc. Line Rental) to just £23 and £28 respectively for new customers.

New customers to Hyperoptic’s 1Gbps capable FTTB/P broadband network, which is available to a growing number of big residential and business buildings across 20 UK cities, look set to benefit after the ISP launch a new range of 12 month discounts on their various packages.

Cable operator Virgin Media has informed ISPreview.co.uk that 25.76 million devices (e.g. Internet-connected TVs, Tablets and Smartphones) were used across 4,952,236 active broadband connections via their network during Christmas Day (up 8% on 2015), which occurred between 5pm and 10pm.

Sky Broadband will today become the first ISP in the United Kingdom to start advertising their headline packages using average download speeds. On top of that they’ve tweaked some of their broadband prices / contract lengths and launched a new dedicated “Tech Team” to boost customer support.

TalkTalk has today decided to complement their 18 month contract terms by adding a lengthy 24 month option (i.e. 12 and 18 month terms are also available) and they’ve tweaked some of their broadband bundle discounts to match, although the new offers won’t last forever.

Cable operator Virgin Media has sharply cut the price of their standalone (solus) 50Mbps, 100Mbps and 200Mbps ultrafast broadband packages for the first 12 months of service, which returns them to the same attractively low level that they briefly held during the Black Friday event.

The Black Friday deals are starting to pop-up and Sky Broadband have today reduced their ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband and phone bundle from £27.40 to just £15 per month for the first 12 months of service. Just for good measure they’ve also thrown in a £75 PrePaid MasterCard.

UK ISP BT has today taken the odd decision to pre-announce their home broadband, mobile and TV discounts for the forthcoming Black Friday sale event, which will launch on 22nd November 2016 and last for seven days.

Until the end of this month Plusnet are offering their ‘up to’ 76Mbps Unlimited Fibre Extra (FTTC) broadband service at just £5 a month for the first 6 months of service (£19.99 thereafter), although you still have to add £17.99 a month for line rental on top (or the equivalent of £15.49 when pre-paid).

UK ISP Sky Broadband has launched a special 9 month contract deal for students, which offers their unlimited ‘up to’ 17Mbps broadband (ADSL2+) service for “free” (£10 a month thereafter) but of course you still have to pay the price of phone line rental on top (£17.40 per month).

UK ISP BT has launched what they’re calling the “Fabulous Fortnight” sale, which essentially combines a price cut of their unlimited broadband and phone packages with the offer of an included Reward Card (Mastercard) worth £50 or £100 (usually the provider prefers to rotate these aspects separately).

Internet provider BT has introduced a discount that cuts the cost of their standard (up to 17Mbps) unlimited broadband package to just £4.50 per month for 12 months, while their superfast (up to 52Mbps) Unlimited Infinity 1 service is now reduced to £9.50 and 76Mbps Infinity 2 to £25.

UK ISP Plusnet has started offering their top ‘up to’ 76Mbps FTTC “Unlimited Fibre Extra” broadband service at £5 per month for the first six months (£19.99 thereafter). On top of that their standard ‘up to’ 17Mbps product is now free for the first 12 months and includes £50 Cashback.

The Superfast North Yorkshire project in England, which is working with Openreach (BT) to make superfast broadband (30Mbps+) services available to around 91% of local premises by June 2017, has put forward a revised Phase 3 roll-out plan that could extend local coverage to nearly 96% by mid-2019.

New and existing Sky TV (Sky Broadband) customers who sign-up for Sky Sports are being offered the option to get the Sky Fibre Broadband (‘up to 38Mbps FTTC) service “free forever“, alternatively they can opt for a £10 per month discount off the normally £20 per month Sky Fibre Unlimited service.

UK ISP Vispa has announced that new subscribers to their 250Mbps capable CityWireless broadband network, which is available to several urban and rural parts of Cheshire (England), will benefit from a price cut after the provider joined the Government’s “2Mbps for all” rural broadband subsidy (USC) scheme.
