Mobile operator EE has moved to “transform” the United Kingdom’s market for Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) services by launching a new range of 4G (LTE at 1800MHz) compatible packages from just £1 per week, but don’t expect a huge data allowance for that.

Hull-based business ISP Axis, which boldly claims to be “the UK’s leading business telecoms and utilities provider” (rivals may disagree), has announced that they’re offering new customers six months half price “superfast fibre optic broadband” (note: it’s actually an FTTC product not FTTH/P) to all new small and medium sized business customers.

UK ISP Sky Broadband (BSkyB) has today tweaked its standard unlimited broadband and phone bundle prices and begun offering the service free for the first 12 months of service (£7.50 thereafter). In addition, customers will get a £100 Marks & Spencers voucher or alternatively the option of a free Samsung GALAXY Tab 4 if they bundle in with a Sky TV service.

Customers looking to take one of Virgin Media and TalkTalk’s broadband bundles should note that this week both providers have launched a number of new time-limited special gift credit and voucher offers, some of which are worth up to £120. Virgin are also offering a free Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 on their top package.

BT has confirmed that new and existing TV (IPTV) customers will be able to watch the new Sky Sports 5 channel, which is dedicated to European Football, on their BT Vision+ set-top-box when it’s launched by Sky today (channel 524). But standard broadband (non – BTInfinity) subscribers will have to wait a few weeks longer.

Internet provider PlusNet has reduced the price of their superfast ‘up to’ 38Mbps capable Unlimited Fibre (FTTC) broadband and Home Phone product, with packages now starting from just £3.75 per month for the first 6 months (£14.99 thereafter).

BT has, for next week only, added a £75 Sainsbury’s voucher to all new standard broadband bundles and a £125 voucher for their superfast (FTTC) packages. In addition, the entry-level price of their superfast BTInfinity 1 service has been reduced to just £5 per month for the first 6 months (£15 thereafter) and a series of new student deals with 9 month contract terms are now available.

Cable operator Virgin Media has tweaked the price of their superfast broadband services and related TV, phone and mobile bundles to be discounted for a full 12 months (previously the cheaper price period only lasted for 6 months), which can save you between £60 and £180 a year off the primary Big Bundle costs.

Budget Internet and phone provider TalkTalk has cut the price of their ‘Superpowered Fibre’ (FTTC) upgrade in half for the first 6 months of service, which means that existing customers can add broadband speeds of up to 38Mbps for an extra £5 per month (normally +£10) on top of their current package.

Hyperoptic, which is busy rolling out a 1000Mbps (Megabits per second) capable Fibre-To-The-Home / Building (FTTH/B) network across big residential and office buildings in the UK cities of London, Cardiff, Bristol, Reading, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds, will today cut the price of their “hyper-sonic” packages in half for the first 6 months of service.

Mobile operator Vodafone has expanded the availability of their £2 extra Per Day EuroTraveller add-on to Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) customers, which means that related users will now be able to take their existing UK voice minutes, texts and data (mobile broadband) allowances with them when they are travelling anywhere in the operators Europe Zone.

As expected EE has today dropped the -£10 discount for existing mobile customers from their fixed line Home Broadband packages and instead lowered the prices for everybody. In addition, Home Broadband subscribers will also now benefit from the 2 for 1 cinema tickets and 241 pizza express (2 for 1 pizza, every Wednesday) promotions.
