Sky Broadband (BSkyB) has announced the imminent launch of a new Sky Sports TV bundle that will come with two years’ worth of free unlimited standard broadband (normally £7.50 a month when taken alongside a Sky TV package).

Internet and mobile operator EE will next week move to make their standard fixed-line Unlimited Home Broadband and Superfast Fibre Broadband (FTTC) services even more attractive by standardising their prices and removing the -£10 discount, which had previously only been available to existing mobile users. But that won’t be the only big change.

Customers adopting one of BT’s triple-play broadband, TV and phone bundles have now been given the option of adding a second YouView (IPTV) set-top-box, for use in different rooms, to their service. But unlike the primary box, which is usually included at no extra cost, the second one won’t be free and you’ll need BTInfinity (FTTC).

Internet provider PlusNet has cut the cost of its superfast ‘Unlimited Fibre Broadband and Calls’ (FTTC) package in half from £19.99 to just £9.99 a month for the first 6 months of service. Meanwhile there are also plans for another rise in the cost of line rental and a product refresh to simplify their packages.

Communications provider Zen Internet has added a new ‘up to’ 76Mbps (19Mbps uploads) capable Unlimited Fibre Office package, which includes an SLA and 60Mbps speed “guarantee”, to its wider range of superfast broadband (FTTC) products for business and home users in the United Kingdom.

Budget ISP TalkTalk has announced that its “totally unlimited” Simply Broadband and phone bundle has been reduced from £3.50 to just £1.75 per month for the first six months of service, although customers will still need to pay line rental on top from £11.75 when pre-paid a year in advance or £15.95 monthly.

Cable provider Virgin Media has announced that existing customers will today become the first who can order from their new range of customisable quad-play “Big Bundles“, which adds an optional mobile SIM tariff alongside the usual mix of superfast broadband, TV and fixed line phone services.

Mobile operator Vodafone UK has announced that customers of their Red 4G plans (including business travellers) will now also be able to make use of “ultrafast” Mobile Broadband connectivity when roaming across Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

EE has made their superfast “Unlimited Fibre Broadband” (FTTC) packages, which offer download speeds of up to 76Mbps and currently benefit from a reduced one-off connection fee of £25, even cheaper by extending the existing 3 months half-price promotion to last for 6 months (hard luck if you signed up last month).

BT’s consumer ISP division has confirmed that their new and re-contracting broadband subscribers will continue to benefit from free access to BTSport TV content for a second season and the operator also revealed that around 5 million UK homes now view the service (3 million come direct from BT and the rest via wholesale partners).

Shropshire-based Internet provider Aquiss has reintroduced the offer of a free installation or migration alongside their superfast unlimited “fibre broadband” (FTTC) packages, which will save new customers up to £96 inc. VAT off the normal retail price. But there’s more.

The Post Office has quietly tweaked their broadband and phone prices, which sees the standard cost of line rental increase from £12 to £13 inc. VAT per month, while the price of broadband access has fallen to compensate and you now get a £50 bill credit. Sadly free UK evening calls have been removed.
