Cable operator Virgin Media (Liberty Global) has today introduced a time limited general reduction in the price of their dual and triple-play broadband, phone and or TV and mobile bundles. Some prices will be broadly unchanged, while others will get cheaper by several pounds per month.

BT has today taken the wraps off their new 4G consumer mobile phone service (BTMobile), which is underpinned by EE’s national network and will turn the United Kingdom’s largest telecoms operator into a quad-play monster. The new SIM-Only tariffs start from just £5 a month for their existing broadband customers (prices rise by £5 for non-BT subscribers), which is all good unless you demand data Tethering.

Hyperoptic, an independent provider that is deploying 1000Mbps capable fibre optic broadband networks across several cities in the United Kingdom and which already reaches 100,000 premises, has today refreshed their brand identify, launched a new website and introduced a revised range of packages and prices for home users.

We don’t usually cover singular voucher promotions, but cable operator Virgin Media has done a slightly new twist. Virgin, on top of their existing price discounts, are now giving new subscribers a voucher reward worth between £50 and £100, with customers choosing whether it’s usable with John Lewis, iTunes, Amazon or M&S.

The revolving door of ISP discounts continues today as TalkTalk have reintroduced their 12 months free unlimited Simply Broadband deal (normal price of £3.50 per month), which must also be taken alongside their phone line rental from £16.70 a month or the equivalent of only £15.03 a month when pre-paid. A £75 Love2shop voucher is included.

South Yorkshire ISP Origin Broadband claims to have lowered the prices across their “entire range” of residential broadband and phone packages, including their superfast “fibre broadband” (FTTC) deals. Now if they could only be clearer about the public pricing of it all.

Cable operator Virgin Media will today reduce the cost of their entry-level 50Mbps “Big Connection” broadband and phone package and their 152Mbps triple-play “Big Kahuna” bundle significantly for the first 12 months of service, although the new prices will only be available until 12th March 2015.

New customers who take one of Zen Internet’s superfast “fibre broadband” (FTTC) packages (e.g. Fibre 1, Unlimited Fibre 1, Unlimited Fibre 2 or Unlimited Fibre Office) can now also take a Self-Install (Plug’n’Play) option, which means that an Openreach engineer doesn’t need to enter your home in order to complete the setup.

Internet provider PlusNet Business has today reduced the cost of their top ‘up to’ 76Mbps capable (19.5Mbps upload) ‘Unlimited Business Fibre Broadband and Phone’ package from £33 +vat per month to just £12.99 per month for the first 12 months of service.

The Post Office has started offering their unlimited broadband premium package free for the first 6 months of service (normally £8 per month), although as usual you’ll still need to pay from the equivalent of £12 per month for phone line rental (when pre-paid).

Consumers on good enough lines can now take BT’s superfast broadband Unlimited Infinity 2 (FTTC) service from £20 per month for the first 12 months of service (a saving of 20% reduced from £25), although you’ll still need to bundle in Phone Line Rental from the equivalent of £14.16 per month (when pre-paid).

Budget ISP Fuel Broadband will later today reintroduce their standard unlimited broadband (up to 16Mbps) bundle, which will be offered free for the first 12 months of service (normally £4 per month) when taken with their Phone Line Rental from £15 per month. The package will also come with Google’s Chromecast TV streamer and other extras.

The United Kingdom’s broadband and phone price war appears to be reaching a new level after ISP Direct Save Telecom announced that their £1.95 per month unlimited broadband package, which also comes with free evening and weekend calls, would now be offered alongside the markets “cheapest advanced line-rental” from the equivalent of just £11 a month (pre-paid at £132 per year).

BT has today decided to kick off the New Year by offering up two of their standard unlimited broadband and superfast (38Mbps) FTTC based (BTInfinity) packages at a reduced price online until Monday 19th January. A Sainsbury’s Gift card is also included, worth between £25 and £50.

Internet provider TalkTalk Business has cut the price of their Complete bundle, which among other things includes unlimited broadband and anytime UK landline and mobile calls, from £10.50 +vat per month to just £5.25 (plus phone line rental of £14.50 +vat per month).

Telecoms giant EE hasn’t let the recent news of a potential BT acquisition sour their existing propositions and to that end they will today launch a new Christmas offer that slashes their Unlimited Home Broadband packages to just £1.95 per month, while their superfast Unlimited Fibre (FTTC) options now start at just £9.98 a month.
