Hyperoptic, an independent provider that is deploying 1000Mbps capable fibre optic broadband networks across several cities in the United Kingdom and which already reaches 100,000 premises, has today refreshed their brand identify, launched a new website and introduced a revised range of packages and prices for home users.
The Fibre-to-the-Building (FTTB) provider, which tends to focus on connecting larger apartment blocks (i.e. those with at least 50 units) and businesses, is currently available at 1,000 sites and continues to deploy into new areas across parts of London, Cardiff, Bristol, Reading, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Nottingham.
As usual the price new customers will pay depends upon whether you choose to take Phone Line Rental (adds £16 per month to the cost) with their packages or instead opt for a standalone broadband solution. All packages come with a 12 month contract term, free wireless router, free installation (apparently worth £240), unlimited usage and those who take the phone service will also benefit from free evening and weekend calls.
The eagle eyed will notice that the phone rental has shot up sharply from being just £12.50 per month before, thus in order to compensate for that Hyperoptic have today launched a special discount, which reduces the cost of their packages significantly (better than half price) for the first 6 months of service.

Naturally the biggest barrier to most consumers will be the understandable lack of availability, although they are hoping to reach 500,000 homes and businesses by 2018. Also take note that both the 100Mbps and 1Gbps services offer symmetric (same speed both ways) performance, while the 20Mbps package has a 1Mbps upload speed.
Steve Holford, VP of Revenue at Hyperoptic, said:
“Hyperoptic launched in 2011 with the objective to change the market. With our true fibre approach, we are giving consumers a real alternative, delivering symmetrical gigabit speeds and great landline deals, with broadband only options available. Since our inception we have undergone huge growth and transformation – launching in 12 UK cities and towns and passing 100,000 units. Our new brand is designed to be simplistic and recognisable – and synonymous with the gold-standard of fibre broadband in the UK.”
As part of today’s refresh Hyperoptic have also commissioned a survey of 2,000 UK consumers, which found that the majority of Brits are unhappy with their broadband, with only a quarter (24%) of consumers feeling satisfied with their current service. Elsewhere less than half the people polled valued a triple or quad play service over a reliable broadband connection, with two in five (41%) respondents claiming that they would forgo a triple or quad play package altogether for a reliable and fast broadband service that could depend upon.
