The Welsh Government (WG) has launched a 30 day public consultation into their proposed £80 million plan to extend the roll-out “fast reliable broadband” (defined as 30Mbps+) to “every property” in Wales by 2020, which could see a further 98,145 premises being covered by the service.

The Scottish National Party (Pàrtaidh Nàiseanta na h-Alba) has today published details of their 2017 Manifesto for the UK’s 8th June General Election, which reiterates last year’s pledge to ensure that 100% of Scotland can access a superfast broadband (30Mbps+) service by 2021.

The latest Q1 2017 figures from the Government’s £1.6bn+ Broadband Delivery UK project has revealed that some 4,426,493 additional premises across the United Kingdom can now order a “superfast broadband” (24Mbps+) service as a result of their joint investment with local councils and the private sector.

The UK Labour Party has today published the final version of their Manifesto for the General Election, which is broadly similar to last week’s leak but includes a few changes. One of those tweaks is an aspiration (not target) to roll-out 300Mbps broadband “across the UK within the next decade” (i.e. by 2027/28).
