Best and Worst UK Train Operators Ranked by Internet Reliability

A new survey of 27,819 train passengers, which was conducted by Transport Focus during autumn 2017, has revealed that just 30% of commuters are satisfied with the reliability of their on-board internet connection (56% dissatisfied and 14% undecided). Southeastern came bottom (18% satisfied).

Global Fixed Broadband Subscribers Reach 913Million as Copper Wanes

The total number of world fixed broadband subscribers grew by 2.38% in Q3 2017 and now stands at 913.3 Million (up by nearly 70 million over the past year). Meanwhile the number of copper lines (ADSL etc.) fell by 6.3% over the past year and “full fibre” FTTH/P connections increased by 30.4%.

Alternative ISP Voneus, which has deployed their ‘up to’ 100Mbps capable and fibre optic fed fixed wireless broadband network into a number of UK rural areas, has now acquired another rival provider – SugarNet – for an undisclosed sum.
