The Telecommunications Adjudicator (OTA), Peter Black, has released his latest monthly (September'07) report on the status of UK local loop unbundling (
LLU) -
HERE. Some 3.195 million telephone lines have now been unbundled from BT, which compares with 2.997m during August.
Growth continues to be spurred on by the number of broadband ISP's disconnecting from BT in order to launch their own cheaper and bundled packages to consumers. Sadly repairs to problematic lines have been hit by.. well, problems:
Unfortunately, the underlying failure rate for mainstream repair performance (i.e. SMPF/MPF/WLR) continues at an unacceptably high level (15-25%) & remains substantially short of agreed targets.
