The latest European Union (EU) statistics have revealed that 54% of EU households now have an Internet connection compared with 49% at the same time last year.
The UK is considered above average in Europe for household Internet connections (67%), increasing 4% over the past 12 months. Meanwhile 57% of Internet connected UK households go online via broadband, an increase of 13% over the same period.
However the Nordic countries still rule the roost, with the Netherlands topping the Internet connection chart at 83%, followed by Sweden and Denmark.
