ADSLGuide reports that BT has increased the residential speed of its Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) trial from a comparatively low 2Mbps to 10Mbps; business users remain on 2Mbps.
There are some 600 trialists for the technology and it's believed that the recent growth of faster speed broadband services has given BT cause to push things forward.
More restricted trials are expected to push FTTP up to 20Mbps, although technically speaking it could one day go much faster, exceeding that of even ADSL2+.
