MetroNet has followed Freedom2Surf by becoming the latest provider to join BT's broadband ADSL migration improvements trial, which includes the seamless ability to swap from a DataStream to an IPStream provider:
MetroNet are delighted to announce joining a forthcoming trial which will allow ADSL users to be able to migrate and regrade in a single order, for the first time. This will save users time in that there will no longer be a need to wait 5 days to migrate and then wait up to another 5 days for a regrade.
This trial goes further in that it allows migrations from a DataStream to an IPStream provider - something that was not possible before. This will be particularly welcomed by customers of providers like Virgin and Tiscali who now don't have to cease their service before starting with another provider and can instead migrate assuming their current provider is willing to give them their MAC (Migration Authorisation Code).
This one-shot process even has a financial benefit for people looking to move to MetroNet and regrade their speed - they can get both for a special one-off fee of
£9.99 inc vat (saving £29.97 when considering the normal costs of £19.98 for a migration and £19.98 for a regrade).
The special price of £9.99 inc. vat. for a combined migration and regrade will apply till 29 April 2005.
Regrettably as it is a trial we do have to limit the number of trialists and therefore depending on demand this new trial may be suspended at any time. So it really is a case of first come first served.
To apply under the trial users simply need to place an order via a MetroNet Account Panel which users can sign up for free here: https://metronet-extranet.com/signup/
