A Readers Digest consumer survey has voted ISP AOL UK as the most trusted Internet brand in the UK for the fifth year in succession:
Interviewing more than two thousand people in the UK, four categories were used to rate online brands including BT, NTL, Wanadoo and Google, with AOL topping the table among consumers. The ratings were calculated across four areas of public interest quality, value, image and understanding customer needs.
The annual Readers Digest survey is conducted across Europe and is the leading indicator of public trust in consumer products and services. This year the survey covered almost 400 UK brands, with AOL leading the way in terms of online service.
Celebrating the award, AOL CEO Karen Thomson said: In a relatively young medium, with online security and safety threats causing concern for consumers, it is important that the leading brands help Internet users get the right advice, tools and content to make the most of being online. We are grateful to all those in the survey who felt we were delivering against this very important goal and who put their trust in AOL as a result.
