Zen Internet has given users of its Rochdal
LLU broadband ADSL market trial an upstream boost to 768Kbps! The only exception being their ZenBroadband Office 500 package, which will receive a boost to 448Kbps. Some SDSL improvements have also been made:
All other ZenBroadband Home and Office services with a download speed greater than up to 1Mbps will see their upload speed increased to up to 768Kbps.
Increasing the upload speed will improve the activities that customers can perform. 768Kbps is up three times faster than standard ADSL services making the upload of files quicker, remote desktop connections faster and improving service experiences such as VoIP and video conferencing.
In addition to these changes Zen is reducing the contention ratio of its SDSL services on the LLU market trial to 2:1.
In its 10th anniversary year, Zen is offering its own unbundled service, now that the local network has been made available to independent operators. Existing Zen customers on the exchange are being migrated across and services are available to new customers with prices starting at £19.99 for an uncapped up to 1Mbps service. Existing customers on Rochdale exchange wishing to take advantage of this should contact sales to apply for their free regrade. Availability can be checked and orders placed at http://www.zenbroadband.com .BT might be getting quite worried about the quickening uptake of cheaper unbundled broadband services; perhaps 2006 will force them into cutting prices again.
