Having been down for quite sometime now, two customers have reported that their service is now back. This morning Silvermead's website remains offline and no statement on the problems has been issued.
One of our readers (BluThunda) claims to have got a response via their support lines, which is roughly quoted below:
"We are sorry for the inconvenience, BT have been working on the phone lines and we have had server problems. We are working around the clock to try and fix the problem, leave all your settings as they are."
We wouldn't be surprised if quite a few users take exception to calling the matter an "inconvenience", when it's clearly been a catastrophic failure. However the above is not an official statement.
So far we only know that broadband ADSL services have been restored (to some degree), clearly other aspects of Silvermead remain down. Many customers are already starting to plan their move away from the provider.
