Ofcom has released its 'Telecommunications Market Data Tables' for Q1-2006, which is essentially a statistical list. Much of it relates to voice communications, yet there is one part listing broadband subscriber statistics and we've summarised that below:

2005-Q4 (BT Retail DSL) = 2,410,000
2006-Q1 (BT Retail DSL) = 2,668,000

2005-Q4 (Other DSL ISP's) = 4,717,000
2006-Q1 (Other DSL ISP's) = 5,149,000

2005-Q4 (Cable Modem) = 2,668,000
2006-Q1 (Cable Modem) = 2,870,000

2005-Q4 (Unbundled [LLU] DSL) = 219,000
2006-Q1 (Unbundled [LLU] DSL) = 365,000

Total broadband subscribers to the end of 2006-Q1 stood at 11,052,000 (includes all of the above technology types).
