Entanet Boosts Broadband Capacity

Posted: 24th Jun, 2006 By: MarkJ
Business ISP Entanet has installed an additional 622Mbps central pipe to meet growing demand for its broadband connectivity services:

The company took positive action several months ago to meet forecast business growth, both in terms of demand from existing and new Partners and their customers. Chief Operations Officer at Entanet, James Blessing said: “We’ve worked hard to meet customers’ increasing bandwidth requirement during the six-month lead time from the point of order from BT. Now that the new central pipe is up and running we can meet everyone’s expectations without difficulty.”

The company has continued to invest in its network infrastructure in order to meet customer needs throughout its 10-year history and it will continue to build on its capabilities as more customers are added, according to John Tsai, Vice President of Entanet. “We’ve seen a steady increase in demand for our services ever since we formed the company and the word about Entanet’s reliable and consistent service is spreading far and wide. The additional 622Mbps central pipe is just the latest example of our commitment to putting the customer first. We believe that if we look after them well, our reputation will spread and we’ll attract more.”

Entanet boasts a significant infrastructure that provides 99% geographical and 100% population coverage in the UK as well as connectivity into western Europe. This comprises a heavily redundant 10 Gigabit network across six major London data centres and 1-10Gbps connections into key London and European exchanges including LONAP, LINX, AMSIX, NL-ix, DE-CIX and SFINX. It also runs data centres at six further key UK city locations, has two large data floors at its Telford headquarters and access to several hundred POPs UK-wide.

The news comes at a time when Entanet is busy attempting to farm support from ISP's for its campaign to see the cost of 'BT Centrals' reduced.
