New research from online payments giant PayPal has revealed that surfing the Internet while "
under the influence" can cause you to unwittingly reveal personal information. Still, some Brits didn't even need to have a drink for that:
Seven per cent of those questioned admitted to telling complete strangers about their love life, and 11 per cent discuss medical problems with people they've never met.
Fifteen per cent of people questioned said that they were drunk when they revealed personal information online. And if we're prepared to give these secrets away, it's possible that we could also be careless with personal financial information.
The
Web-User item notes that surfers can share anything from medical matters to love life problems with total strangers. Still, conversation sometime demands a certain degree of openness in order to be social; but not too much.
