Those wishing to migrate their ADSL connection from a rival ISP onto PlusNet's 'Broadband Premier' range can benefit from a new promotion, which offers the first three months of service for just £9.99 per month (£21.99 thereafter). Sadly there are a few catches.
The offer itself is classed as 'up to 2Mbps', yet the small print reads: "
It is free to move to a service based on your existing BT product type. However, changing the speed or contention rate of your service is subject to a one-off fee of £14.99 and will take place 5-7 days after your new account becomes active. See our FAQ for more information on BT product types."
In other words, despite that bold "2Mbps", those shifting from a 512Kbps package would still need to take 512Kbps with PlusNet to have a free migration. The £9.99 monthly offer still stands either way.
The following from the T&C's should also be noted:
2. You will not have to pay a moving fee for transferring your service to PlusNet if you complete a 12-month minimum period. This will be measured from the date your move is successfully completed.
3. If you cancel your service before the end of the 12-month minimum period, a moving fee of £14.99 (inc. VAT) will apply, in addition to any other fees that may be payable. There are a few more devil's in the detail
