UPDATE: Centrica has now confirmed this report. The Sunday Times newspaper yesterday claimed that Centrica is endeavouring to sell OneTel, its UK Telco/ISP business, which houses over 1m customers:
Still, news that Centrica is looking to shed its phone business follows speculation last week that OneTel was eyeing up broadband telco EasyNet.
On Friday, though, EasyNet boss David Rowe told AFX that there was "no truth in this rumour".Typically Centrica claims to have already had interest for the business, which is valued very roughly at a couple of hundred million pounds. More @
