UKOnline's FREE Business Broadband Connection
By: MarkJ - 03 August, 2007 (1:12 PM)

ISP UK Online is offering entrepreneurs and small firms a FREE connection to its 'up to' 8Mbps business-strength broadband (ADSL) service, but only if customers register before 31st August:

The deal is being offered as part of UK Online’s commitment to delivering broadband to the country’s 4.1m small businesses with less than ten employees, two-thirds of whom are still operating without an internet connection according to a recent survey*.

The connection fee waiver, which amounts to a saving of £25, is expected to prove highly attractive to many of the UK’s small businesses that have yet to set up an online presence in order to take advantage of the opportunities available. UK Online’s Business Broadband service starts at £19.99 per month and includes 24x7 UK based freephone technical support, up to 8Mb, 20 e-mail addresses and free McAfee Internet Security Suite.

* The study was carried out by Dynamic Markets on behalf of UK Online during May 2007. 200 owners of UK businesses with between one and ten employees, who subscribe to an internet package, were drawn from a cross section of British industries. In total, 588 decision makers were spoken to, 200 of which had either a consumer or business Internet access package.

It's worth noting that the package is based off a 20:1 contention and offers uploading speeds of up to 768Kbps. Customer support is UK based and all prices are +vat.
