Designed to coincide with the launch of BTWholesale's new IPStream Home 2000 product, BT Retail (BT Yahoo! etc.) has itself announced a 2Mbps consumer product trial for the end of November:
BT IP Stream Home 2000 is designed to provide the solution for those consumers looking to upgrade to a broadband service that will be four times as fast than our current standard 512Kbps offering.
This trial is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver more to our broadband customers by providing more choice, value, access and content.
Gavin Patterson, group managing director, consumer and ventures division, said: We are aware that our customers often have very different needs. To that end we are continuously reassessing our product offerings and investing in finding new opportunities.
This trial period is designed to ensure that the basics are in place from the outset and that we are confident of being able to deliver the best broadband experience when we launch early in the new year.
The trial is due to start on November 29 and will last for approximately eight weeks. Places on the trial are already allocated, but customers can find out more details about the proposed new service and register their interest at http://www.bt.com/broadband/2mb
