Small businesses in Edinburgh have been angered by BT's apparent inability to meet key broadband connection dates in the capital. Some have allegedly been told to expect delays of up to, or possibly even over, a year!:
But BT has been quick to reassure customers it is on top of the problem. It admitted that its two major exchanges in Edinburgh were at full capacity, but it was hoping to upgrade them "within the next few days".
A spokeswoman said: "Sometimes we have to install new equipment to increase capacity for broadband, but it is always done very quickly... No-one should have been asked to wait a year."The overall success of xDSL broadband can sometimes be an easy mask for the problems that remain. If your exchange is suffering from maximum capacity then perhaps the best solution would be to give your local newspaper a call ;). More @
