Entanet's Strong Leased Line Growth

Posted: 19th Jan, 2005 By: MarkJ
Business ISP Entanet has experienced a three-figure percentage rise in sales of leased line connections in the final three months of 2004, which follows further investment in its infrastructure:

The service is now available in all areas of the UK at a fixed price, giving businesses in parts of the country where there are few points of presence (POPs), an option that would, previously, have been impractical and expensive.

The increased availability of the leased line service is a direct result of Entanet’s continued investment in its network infrastructure. The company recently made investments designed to further enhance its nationwide network and, by working in close partnership with BT, has been able to extend the availability of the leased line service. This is now being offered in areas of where it was not previously available, enabling many more customers to consider it as a serious option.

Over the past year, Entanet has expanded its heavily redundant core network. It has presence in numerous data centres across the country, including an entire suite in London Telehouse, another suite in Global Switch, significant presence in Manchester Telecity, and two large data centres in its UK Headquarters based in a prestigious pagoda building situated in Telford.

Additionally, Entanet runs a total of seven auxiliary data centres as a set of local POPs serving the immediate areas out of the commercial centres of major UK cities (Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Cambridge, Telford and London), with further access to over 120 POPs throughout the entire UK, giving an unprecedented 99% geographical coverage, and 100% population coverage.

Recently, Entanet has upgraded its connection into the London Internet Exchange (LINX) to 1 Gbps and installed their own fibre ring to connect all their data centres in London Docklands. Further significant enhancements are planned for the rest of 2005.
