Research from the European Interactive Advertising Association highlights how the number of women using the Internet has grown by 63% since 2003 vs 54% for men:
The Digital Women 2006 report predicts that if current trends continue it will be women spending the most time online in 2007. The number of young women aged between 16 and 24 spending time online has more than doubled in the last three years.
Websites visited by European women include travel, shopping, auction and banking sites, with 80 per cent of the female respondents saying they benefit from the fact they can find what they want and save time thanks to the internet.Interestingly the
Web-User item also notes how 60% of women use a broadband connection to surf, compared with just 15% in 2003.
