Reports suggest that telecoms giant Vodafone may be considering a possible takeover of UK ISP Tiscali and or Bulldog.

Typically Vodafone has dismissed such reports as "speculation", which effectively means they're not commenting on it, but that something may still be up.

The market has become a fiercely competitive place, with the divide between voice telecoms and Internet access being bridged. It certainly wouldn't surprise us if Vodefone is preparing to do a 'Carphone Warehouse' and branch out into this new area, as opposed to being left behind.

Unfortunately we’re unlikely to learn more until after the operators strategic review has been published in May. We’d rather hope they make a play for Tiscali, after all, it’s not as if they could make things any worse there.
