UK ISP Pipex has signed a new partnership deal with Intel's capital investment organization, Intel Capital. It's believed the deal will lead to Pipex launching a
WiMAX based broadband wireless service, which will cover all of the UK's major cities.
The new operator is to be called Pipex Wireless, with the roll-out of its network expected to begin in London and Manchester sometime during 2007. Initial targets will be the top eight most populated areas by 2008.
Pipex is one of only two operators to hold a national
WiMAX license in Britain. Intel is expected to invest $25m in the project.
