Cable-Forum reports that NTL will upgrade its existing 2Mbps broadband customers onto 4Mbps, including an improved upload rate of 400Kbps. Perhaps of more interest is the fact that they're re-introducing "
unlimited" usage!?:
This will mean that ntls 1Mb, 4Mb and 10Mb services will all now be with unlimited access.
From 1st June 2006, new and existing customers will automatically receive up to 4Mb download speeds. It's worth pointing out that NTL recently took some flak after a "Traffic Shaping" clause suddenly appeared and then disappeared from their T&C's.
We wouldn't be surprised to see such a policy return now that the marketing department have seen fit to re-label packages as "unlimited", an overly abused word if ever there was.
