Tiscali has introduced a new email security product called '
Secure Mail'. The service, which is launching in Italy this week and should reach the UK "
soon", is essentially an encryption system:
Tiscali Secure Mail requires subscribers to download and install a plug-in, and a new 'secure' button will appear in their email software.
The subscriber simply presses 'secure' before 'send' and the message is automatically encrypted. The message remains encrypted until it reaches the recipient. Tiscali Secure Mail can be sent to anyone, even those who have not downloaded the software.
Judging by
VNUNet's wording we'd say that 'Secure Mail' is a value added service, which means it may cost a little extra on your monthly bill.
