The UK Internet Service Providers Association (
ISPA) has today revealed its Internet Hero, Villain And IWF nominees for the 2007 awards. The full list can be read
HERE.
Both Ofcom and its former Chief Executive, Stephen Carter, get listed separately in the "hero" categories. Ofcom, for its attempts at preventing TV regulation being applied to the Internet and Carter for his work over seeing the regulators Strategic Review of Telecommunications.
Meanwhile everything from the US Government to The British Phonographic Industry are on the "villains" hit-list. We somewhat expect the BPI to win out there, but you never know:
The British Phonographic Industry
"For applying pressure on Cable & Wireless and Tiscali to reveal the names and addresses of customers who the BPI believed to be file sharing, with poorly prepared evidence."
Winners will be presented with an
ISPA Award at a dinner held inside the London Marriott Hotel (Grosvenor Square) on the 15th February 2007.
