Freedom2Surf has signed a new partnership deal with IPTV (Internet TV) provider - Aggregator, which will allow the UK ISP to offer an on-demand television over broadband (TVoBB) services to its customers:
Aggregators TVoBB services will create a new UK pay-TV platform that will serve multiple devices including PCs and hybrid set-top boxes. Aggregators on-demand services allow the delivery of niche content to specialist interest communities that are currently underserved by the television market. Initially offering programmes for Russian expatriates living in the UK through its MoёTV portal, Aggregator will launch a number of further services in the coming months targeted at a range of special interests.
Working closely with forward thinking ISPs such as freedom2surf, Aggregator will enable its customers to watch programmes on demand and, where appropriate, automatically download content off-peak to ensure high quality downloads and minimal disruption to the broadband network.
"TVoBB is one of the most exciting areas in the Internet and communications industry and we certainly want to be part of it," says Maria Cappella, managing director of freedom2surf. "We are working closely with Aggregator to trial services with our customer base and find ways of offering a consistent, high quality service for broadband television customers."
