The London Internet Exchange (LINX), which is one of the world's largest not-for-profit Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), apparently suffered a serious service outage lasting roughly one hour during Tuesday night (18.35).
The Register reports that the outage was one of LINX's longest to date and involved unspecified problems with a line card. Naturally the outage will have impacted many ISPs and related Internet services.
We ourselves witnessed high latency over various
VoIP and gaming applications for the duration of the problem across several different ISP networks, such as BTs.
