PlusNet has activated a second additional 155Mbps segment of central broadband ADSL bandwidth to its network in less than one week. The move is designed to fit in with the providers budget and projected growth in customer numbers:
This segment is part of a brand new 622Mbps central pipe weve had installed (imaginatively titled Plusnet 10′). Customers connecting to the new pipe will access the Internet through a new gateway known as pcl-ag03.
As before some end-users might experience the odd disconnection while the network balances itself but otherwise such upgrades are usually seamless. The new capacity will also help to support the providers forthcoming 24Mbps broadband services.
