TalkTalk's (
The Carphone Warehouse) broadband ISP customers have been impacted by a spate of email, hosting and website browsing problems since a power outage struck the service last weekend.
As if that wasn't bad enough, it's now emerged that
TalkTalk's users have also been blacklisted from accessing several popular websites, such as eBay and Hotmail:
Service Statement:There is an ongoing issue with
TalkTalk email services; some users will be getting delays in receiving emails and there are potential issues logging into Webmail.
This is being looked at as a High Priority incident, we'll update you as soon as more information is available.
As you know we are currently investigating the ongoing issues with our email service which was as a result of the weekend power outage, in the past few minutes we have been advised that our email servers may have been blacklisted with the following organisations:
paypal.com
hotmail.co.uk
hotmail.com
ebay.co.uk
UPDATE 14:50 - We can now confirm that we have been blacklisted and are working with our partners to ensure we are removed from their lists ASAP.
Curiously it's believed that the problems are isolated to several specific telephone exchanges around the UK, although nobody has been able to answer why this would be or how many customers are being affected.
