UK Broadband Migrations Rise by 8.5% Over 2007

Posted: 10th Sep, 2008 By: MarkJ
Cash back network Froggybank has revealed the results of its latest buying habits survey, which questioned 500,000 of its UK members between the periods of May to July 2008. It revealed that, in comparison to the same time last year, broadband migration between ISP's had increased by 8.5%.

In addition, 7.5% more consumers also bought their broadband, TV and phone from the same company compared to last year:

Froggybank's marketing manager Nadeem Azam said: “We have not yet reached the stage where people feel so poor that they will give up satellite TV or cut back on the number of calls and texts they make. But they are actively seeking out ways to cut the cost of staying online, connected and entertained.”

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) recently revealed a quarterly decline of 0.3% in new land-line Internet connections, suggesting that migration is now the only real land-line movement in the market. ISPs unable to offer an advantage over their rivals, be it in terms of price, quality and or services, are likely to be those hardest hit by the aggressive market conditions.
